July & August 2018
Summer School is designed with our amazing clients in mind! Most people have extensive travel plans and unpredictable schedules during the summer months, but that shouldn't mean that you can't train and play with your dog! During the months of July and August you can buy a three pack of classes, and choose how you want to spend them. Check out the options below.
Basic Leash Training - covers leash equipment, handling, and basic techniques to help your dog learn to walk politely by your side.
Intermediate Leash training - upgrades the skills you learned previously, and adds distractions to set your dog up for success outside.
Advanced Leash Training - takes it to the streets, where we will work on all leash skills in the real world! This is an OUTDOOR class.
Basic Impulse Control - is an introduction to skills that help resolve jumping, hyperactivity, stealing objects or food, high-distractability, and other frustrating behaviors.
Intermediate Impulse Control - upgrades the skills you learned previously, and adds distractions to teach you how to work through those challenges.
Advanced Impulse Control - takes it to the streets, where we work on all impulse control skills in the real world where you really need it! This is an OUTDOOR class. (we will not address leash pulling in depth in this class, for that subject take the Leash Manners course).
Recall & Stay
Basic Recall & Stay - is an introduction to teaching your dog down-stay, sit-stay, and coming when called.
Intermediate Recall & Stay - upgrades the skills you learned previously and adds distractions to teach you how to have success with all cues in highly distracting situations.
Advanced Recall & Stay - takes it to the dog run, where we work off leash on coming when called and stay behaviors in the real world, where you really need it!
Each 3-pack ($225) of classes allows you to choose between taking all three levels of one subject
(for example: Basic Leash, Intermediate Leash, and Advanced Leash)
You can choose to take all three subjects in only one level
(for example: Basic Leash, Basic Impulse Control, and Basic Recall & Stay).
You may also purchase multiple 3-packs and do both if you prefer.
All you have to do is choose which dates work best for you and your dog. Take a look at the calendars below.
*TRICKS CLASSES* are offered this year as a bonus subject. If you have taken an introductory course with AGDT in the past or participated in summer school last year and you remember the four steps of teaching your dog a trick (such as sit), and your dog gives you some attention in the presence of distractions, you are eligible to enroll in a tricks class.
